Shani Sadhe Sati is the seven and a half year period in which transiting Saturn (Shani) moves from the beginning of the sign before to end of the sign after the natal Moon (Chandra). Another way of saying it is, "Saturn transits from the sign 12th from the natal Moon to the sign 2nd from the natal Moon".
Pandit Dixit wrote in a recent email:
"In the life of a person the Sadhe Sati occurs at the most three times. In the first Sade Sati the evil effects are felt by the parents. In the second Sadhe Sati the evils are concentrated on the domestic and professional fields of the person. The third Sadhe Sati affects one's children and health."
Three remedies are suggested for alleviating stress during Sadhe Sati.
It pays to remember that some people in Sadhe Sati do very well and hardly notice any roughness. Even during the seven and a half year transit events are likely to go through cycles of improvement and decay.
Iron is the metal of Saturn.
The middle finger is the finger of Saturn.
Saturday is the day of Saturn.
The intention of honoring Saturn by wearing the iron ring attacts the best that Saturn has to offer. During Shani Sadhe Sati, Saturn may change what you do, where you live, who you are! His purpose is to remove any obstacles to enlightenment. So the loss of these things; occupation, home, identity, can free one for greater spiritual attainment. Saturn's function is to grind one's ego to nothing.
When I was living in Florida, I used to make iron rings from old horse shoe nails from black horses. (Black is a Saturnine color) I'd heard that I needed nails from black horses used to pull a hearse. But this was America in the deep south in the 90's. Most hearses there were Cadillacs. So these black horses were cattle horses, or pets, or thoroughbreds. Not intensely Saturnine horses, but they were equine and black.
I used to make the rings incorrectly by heating and forging them with blacksmithing techniques. Saturn is a cold planet. It is better to use cold techniques to form these rings. The first rings I made still worked! I'll always remember the surprised look on Bruce' face and his sigh of relief as he slipped his iron ring onto his middle finger. He'd been having a rough time. His mother had died. His work situation was very unsettled. His romantic relationship of several years was ending. He still had roughness come up in his life, yet, he somehow had a serenity and tolerance for it after that first day of wearing his iron ring.
Panditji sent me some iron rings. His son collected the first batch from the barges used to carry the dead across the Ganges. He had quite a time of it. Apparently the bargemen don't exactly like all the jyotishis coming around and asking to take their boats apart! Panditji organized a Shani pooja to bless the rings on the Saturday they were sent to me. I have sold all that first batch of rings with good results for my clients.
The most recent shipment of rings are pretty rough as far as styles of fine jewelry go. But Saturn is a dark planet, rough, cold. Exactly like these bits of iron wire made into rings. I size them Saturday, smaller or larger. I grind off any sharp tips so they won't nick the skin. Please note that some of these rings may have a slight gap between the ends. The gap does not affect its power. The fact that they are iron, the metal of Saturn, is most important.
Please email me at goldenspirit@jyotish-yagya.com to place your order now. I need to know the size of the middle finger on the right hand for gents and the size of the middle finger on the left hand for ladies.
I've just received a new shipment of Sadhe Sati rings. At first I was dissappointed because they were not as rough and old looking as the first batch.
Panditji wrote,
"I had assigned the job of arranging iron rings for you to my son. He told me today that this time the boats men refused to give nails off their boats. Then he purchased an iron wire and wrapped it round the head of the boat and left it there for three days. Thereafter he gave that iron wire to the technician who made the iron rings. Also, he told me that all the iron rings were sanctified by a pandit with the chanting Saturn mantra and pooja. He said that before shipping them all the rings were washed with the sacred water of the Ganges. However, a Saturn pooja is performed again to purify all iron rings.
I think this is a lot better than a ring made from a horse shoe nail, don't you? The iron in these rings is never shattered. It is lovingly formed into a circle to symbolize your connection with Saturn. Wearing an iron ring pays respect to Saturn and attracts the best from him.

Should you need to return the ring for re-sizing, please include $20 to cover my time re-sizing and re-shipping. I do not accept responsibility for rings that are the wrong size due to an error by the client. I accurately size the rings as directed. If you want to size the ring up slightly, just grab opposite sides and carefully pull the sides apart. This will make the ring slightly larger.
